TeraData DBA (CDMX or Guadalajara)
What We Need:
• Work as part of Teradata database administration team to maintain Teradata DEV, UAT, PROD, COB environments.
• Monitor and maintain all Teradata infrastructure including backup servers, tape libraries and Datadomain servers.
• Coordinate with vendors on issues with software, hardware, etc.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis of Teradata database & Netbackup.
• Work on projects to upgrade existing infrastructure or deploy new systems to increase performance or capacity.
• Improve Teradata system performance by performing query performance tuning and implementing appropriate workload rules.
• Designing and implementing custom disaster recovery solutions to replicate the data from production to disaster recovery system.
• Respond and resolve complex customer-related issues.
• In-depth knowledge of Teradata, Netbackup, EMC DataDomain and scripting skills to optimize the Teradata environments.
• Work on security administration like Full disk, Network, Media encryption and Hardening.
• PDCR (Performance data collection and reporting) installation, migration, configuration, troubleshooting and reporting.
• Vewpoint, Datalab, Querygrid, Datamover, BAR setup and configuration.
Required Experience With:
• 5 to 8 years of experience in Teradata core and application DBA.
• Extensive hands-on experience in setting up the Structure, Database, User, role, profiles, Space as per Teradata best practices.
• Experience in SUSE Linux, Netbackup and EMC datadomain system administration.
• Extensive experience with Teradata upgrade like DBS Version, Floor sweep.
• Experience in database cloning, Disaster Recovery, Workload management, Down AMP recovery.
• Hands-on experience on Utilities like Showspace, Showlocks, Packdisk, Checktable, Scandisk, TSTSQL, Vprocmanager, Config, etc.
• Hands-on experience in Backup, Restore and Data copy using Datamover, FE-ML, ARCMAIN, DSA, etc.
• Perform security audits, which includes designing and implementing IP-Filtering, Gateway security.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting.
• Maintain workload management (TASM) to appropriately match the current requirement and making changes to workload based on new requirement for the better management of the system.
• Generating TSET report for day to day Teradata incidents and also importing data demographics/Stats using TSET.
• Exceptional knowledge on DBS control parameters.
• Building the Teradata DR systems by cloning the production environment and automation of DR synchronization process based on given RPO/RTO.
• Creating and managing Data LABS & deploying UDF’s (SHA, Oracle, java) on user request.
• Implementing and reviewing the ACL/Firewall rules to ensure required security rules in place.
• Keep up to update on database systems and features, 3rd party tools, and match with current industry standards.
• Performing periodic audits especially for the users who are having destructive/DML access. Raise SIRT if required.
• Hands-on experience with SYSYINIT, TDPUT, DIP, TVS (Teradata virtual storage) & TIM (HeatMap Udf), SWS.
• Scheduling upgrades according to the need or EOS/EOVS requirements.
• Develop and implement database performance monitoring process and analyze monitoring data for performance optimization opportunities.
• Resolve database performance, capacity, replication issues and other distributed data issues.
• Defining and monitoring stats collection and also proactively optimizing them as needed to help the queries to run efficiently on system.
• Constantly research to improve the performance of the system by sharing any new changes/features available in the Teradata system with the development team.
• Perform production implementations and work with application developers to tune their SQL for standard coding practices and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards.
• Set Teradata standards w.r.t database design, physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.
• Design and implement standards for monitoring; ensure database environment are running effectively, including backups and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with different hardware system models such as appliance, enterprise, etc.
• Provide mentoring and education, along with technical guidance and direction to the teams.
