 Cloud Engineer – AWS IoT  
Hybrid in Guadalajara, and Remote in Mexico

 

We are currently looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer – AWS IoT with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join a dynamic team. This role focuses on designing, building, and operating scalable and secure AWS cloud solutions, with strong involvement in data, automation, and DevSecOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and operate AWS cloud architectures ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Implement and manage data-focused AWS services such as Glue, Athena, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, and S3 data lakes.
Build and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
Configure cloud networking components.
Deploy and automate infrastructure using Terraform with advanced modules.
Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Integrate cloud security controls and automated compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
Implement IAM, encryption, firewalls, and secure networking practices.
Monitor cloud environments using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Datadog.
Ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA.
Build and operate serverless and data lake environments.
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services and/or Python.
Collaborate with product, data, and cybersecurity teams, participate in design reviews, and provide technical mentorship.

Technical Skills Required:

With 4–8 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, you must be proficient in the following technical skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS
  • Deep experience with Terraform
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking and security
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools
  • Experience with monitoring tools
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices
  • Experience with AWS Glue, Athena, and SageMaker

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Fluent in English (Advanced)
Strong communication, empathy, commitment, and leadership skills

Location & Schedule:
2 days in Hybrid / Possible Remote work model in Guadalajara, Jalisco
Candidates should be located in Guadalajara, Zapopan, or Tlaquepaque (remote candidates from other states may be considered)

Remote Residents, in Queretaro, Mexico City,  Aguascalientes, Colima, Michoacan, Guanajuato

Work hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00
